I think the only thing that would make me feel betetr about this is if current CS:S owners got CS:GO for free.
Its obvious this game is NOTHING to do with the PC community, its all about bring CS:S to console.
I mean how can they possibly claim that its a NEW CS when virtually all the maps are identical to the source maps... only a couple have been significantly updated, and given its been 7 years or so since CS:S came out, thats pretty pathetic.
My biggest worry is that this is going to damage the CS:S communtiy, with half the players upgrading and half sticking with source. This is always a problem when a new version is released, I would just prefer to see this risk taken for a product that is worth it.
I would have wanted to see all the maps remade, with a few new ones as well... forgetting about dust2 and aztec, the maps look exactly the same, but most of them have been dumbed down (tunnel gone from nuke, less trains on the train bombsites etc)
I was looking forward to CS:GO, not so much now i feel.
Cm'on Valve, you've really lost your way these last few years, screwed over the L4D crowd by relasing L4D2 exactly one year later; HL2-EP2 was four and a half YEARS AGO!! (looking forward to EP3, just cant rememebr wtf was going on in the story) POrtal2 was good, I enjoyed it, but not GREAT. Maybe its their intention to bundle HL2-EP3 in with the CS:GO release, kinda like with the orange box, this would make me feel a bit better at least.
