Not too sure on how much this will help most of you, since chances are 99% of the people who will read this have a much better computer than I do, however I've been able to gain a little bit of FPS with pretty much no quality loss by using the commands in this CFG.

To use the commands, create a file named autoexec.cfg and put it in Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg

If anyone has anything to add, change, etc. Please feel free to let me know and I will update the CFG and give credit where credit is due.

Also, the new Source Engine version uses an automatic detection system for most of the graphic settings. To bypass this, go into:

Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg

and edit:

video.txt

Inside there, change the following commands to how I have them or copy and paste the settings beolow. If you copy and paste them any missing commands will automatically be added by the game (For example, I do not include the commands for the screen resolution since not all people have the same screen proportions or they may want to use a higher or lower resolution.(Generally, the lower the #, the lower the quality settings. In two cases [vsyc/triple buffer] 1=on 0=off):

"config"
{
    "setting.mat_software_aa_strength"        "1"
    "setting.fullscreen"        "1"
    "setting.nowindowborder"        "0"
    "setting.aspectratiomode"        "1"
    "setting.mat_vsync"        "0"
    "setting.mat_triplebuffered"        "0"
    "setting.mat_monitorgamma"        "2.200000"
    "setting.mat_queue_mode"        "-1"
    "setting.mat_motion_blur_enabled"        "0"
    "setting.cpu_level"        "0"
    "setting.videoconfig_version"        "1"
    "setting.mem_level"        "0"
    "setting.gpu_level"        "0"
    "setting.mat_antialias"        "0"
    "setting.mat_forceaniso"        "0"
    "setting.mat_grain_scale_override"        "1"
}

NOTE: TURNING VSYNC ON WILL CAUSE INPUT LAG! ONLY USE IT IF YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO

    Posted by [CarnageHeart] The rag dolls and blood decals being turned on are part of a protected CVAR. This CVAR cannot be changed currently without doing some reverse engineering of the game's core. You could however, do a texture replacement for the blood decals to make them invisible. How to do this, I don't know... but I'm sure some one on the forums should. The rag dolls you're kind of stuck with though. This may change as development of the game and Mods progresses, however as of right now there is nothing.

    You MAY want to look into Meetamod:Source and SourceMod, as these addons give greater functionality to your game's options. Even though they are designed for servers, they can circumvent some protected CVARs allowing you to change them and keep them changed when you connect to other servers. But as of right now I haven't even begun messing with these so I don't know what the protected CVAR commands are.

    Thanks for your reply. I'll just wait for the game to develop further, I'm sure it is something Valve will look into - at least they should, considering they want CS:GO to be competitive based.

    Posted by [mersk] Is there any way to disable ragdolls? In CS:S there was a command (cl_ragdoll_physics_enable) to do this, but I can't seem to find an equivalent in CS:GO. Not only do lots of dead bodies drain your FPS, but it's also very annoying to have them block your vision and such. Also, is there any way to remove blood decals? It can be hard enough to spot enemies at a distance in maps that aren't _se, without having blood on walls confuse you additionally.

    If anyone know of such commands, it would be much appreciated. I've googled it several times without luck.
