Have you tried completely removing your video card driver, then reinstalling/updating?

    Hi Killer :)

The BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) is hardware or driver related, causing the computer to stop responding in order to prevent damage to the hardware or data.

I assume you already verified game cache to make sure CSGO is not missing/corrupting some files!

You need to first check that your PC is not overheating (CPU fan and heat-sink running slower or accumulating heavy dust). Next make sure your graphic card is updated with the most recent driver. I am assuming you already did those obvious things :), which leaves you with the third option (that actually causes a lot of BSODs); your motherboard BIOS.

If your board and/or bios are old and outdated, several newer games might refuse to run and reboot your PC to a BSOD. CSGO, running on the newest source engine, might fall under this category.

Updating your bios might be a good idea to cure this issue and stabilize your PC during CSGO launch; just be careful, read the manufacturer manual and procedure to update the bios (check some tutorials if you need to see someone who did the flashing before you)

    Hope this helps

I might come off as an asshole for this but so be it.

The BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) is hardware or driver related, causing the computer to stop responding in order to prevent damage to the hardware or data.

This is not the purpose of the BSoD. In fact, it has no purpose. More importantly, though, it does not prevent hardware damage and actually causes data loss.

I assume you already verified game cache to make sure CSGO is not missing/corrupting some files!

Corrupt game files will not cause a kernel-level error (unless the sector they're on is damaged, but that's another issue entirely).

You need to first check that your PC is not overheating (CPU fan and heat-sink running slower or accumulating heavy dust).

Overheating does not cause kernel errors (at least not directly). There are common cases in which a graphics card will overheat in a location that does not have a thermal sensor and will ultimately throw an error, I guess, but cleaning out a CPU's heatsink won't fix that.

Chaddcl0ps' link has the most likely solution.

    Hi Judo

My aim is to help the OP, not to debate with you on specific details of the BSOD (which I'm capable of, and I'm pretty sure you are too :)

BSOD's CAN be thrown be overheating CPU/GPU (with a faulty or loose heat-sink, overclocking...). If you dig deep on the issue, pretty much everything in your PC can throw a BSOD, leaving the kernel hanging and unable to execute the command, courtesy of the lovely programmers at Microsoft:

Buggy or incorrectly configured device driver, hardware conflict, hard disk corruption/failure, corrupt registry, boot sector, computer's memory, power supply, overclocking... and the list goes on and on. If you think of it, BSOD has become a prominent feature in windows rather than an error :)

The OP has not posted his PC specs and has not shown us the actual BSOD with the stop error message, that's why I had to give him as many reasons as possible , to start troubleshooting from.

    @ Killer329cc

    any updates on the issue?

    any updates on the issue?

I just used @Bios (Auto bio updater for Gigabyte mobos) but still crashes when I start up CS:GO. I don't know what to do next... Whats the next thing I should do?

Did you go through the points from my first post (integrity of game cache files, CPU/GPU temperatures, updated video driver)

Would be useful to post your PC specs (in case someone else wants to have a look at this issue) and an actual screenshot of the blue screen to see what stop error it's throwing (helpful to determine the origin of the error)

Is your CPU/GPU overclocked? Have you tried running a disk scan for bad sectors? try defragmenting your HDD while making sure you have enough free space. Run a virus check just in case.

Did you restart your system after flashing/updating your bios?

That's all I can think about for the moment :)
